Hello all!…
Well here we are, actually getting married… Would you believe it!
We’ve arrived in Langkawi. - A beautiful island and can’t wait to be wed…
the birds are singing and the sun is shining which is a good sign!

Four Seasons Resorts Walk for Life 2008

Four Seasons Resorts Langkawi today successfully organize this annual fundraiser event.
This event is organized to raise fund for early detection and treatment of cancer in Malaysia. Four Seasons Walk for Life began as the Terry Fox Run to commemorate the life of a courageous young man who was diagnosed with bone cancer and ran across Canada to raise funds for cancer research.
This year event was held at the LADA building’s open parking space in Kuah. It began with an Aerobic warm-up at 7.30am followed by the race half an hour later.
Stalls selling T.shirts, souvenirs, photographs, drinks and foods adds to the fun. Everyone seems to have a great time and enjoyed the great food, entertainment and prizes.

How to Photograph Firewoks Displays? These are most questions that i had received from readers and most had a feeling that its really hard to capture. I could understand that as capturing a fireworks display always involve the elements of both darkness and brightness. The darkness of the sky or the surroundings and the brightness of the fireworks or sometimes the foreground.
My simple adviced to all is “grab you camera equipments and give it a try” whenever theres a fireworks displays in and around your area.

Angkasawan Negara Visit To HM Aerospace Langkawi

Angkasawan Negara Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor was in Langkawi for a one day official visit under the “Program Motivasi Angkasawan 3P Langkawi 2008″. He visited HMA’s hangar over at the Langkawi International Airport near Padang Matsirat this afternoon and gave a motivational talk to HMA’s students.
HM Aerospace Sdn Bhd (HMA) is Malaysia’s largest aviation training center providing world-class training and facilities for cadet pilots. As a member of the Halim Mazmin Group, HMA has the capacity to train a minimum of 200 cadet pilots per year in their Langkawi facilities.
After a brief introduction by it’s Chairman, Tan Sri Halim, Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar shared his experienced in space and also about the making of an Angkasawan followed by a Q&A session.
Dr. Sheikh together with Tan Sri Halim later toured the facilities and had an hands on experience on board a Diamond DA 42 Twin Star (an Austrian built training aircraft).
Students as well as my two daughters took the opportunity to have their photos taken with Dr. Sheikh and not forgetting an autograph from our “Angkasawan”. Before leaving the facility he acknowledge his fans by having a group photo taken together with Tan Sri Halim, the students and staffs of HM Aerospace Langkawi.

Suzana & Andy’s Wedding - The Tour Continued

Following on from our wonderful wedding “nikah” in KL on 22 March (for
those of you who did not see the fantastic photos please check them out
in the photo gallery section on this website) we have continued to parts
2 and 3 of our global celebrations!
On April 12 we had a reception in Jakarta, Indonesia which was attended
by Susan’s close family (all 200+ of them!). The theme was “Arabian
Nights” and so Susan designed her own belly-dancing outfit and also my
white suit. I had lots of comments about the hat (or songkok) that I
wore for the wedding and so I thought I would give you all even more of
a laugh by wearing an Aladdin style hat for this reception. I look
forward to your comments on the blog!
Almost all of Susan’s family were there, lead by her Mum and of Susan’s
8 brothers and sisters only Lola who lives in Dubai couldn’t make it as
she is pregnant with child no. 7! She has such a big and fun family - I
did not believe how large the “close” family was until I saw them all
there - but everyone seemed to have a great time and enjoyed the
fantastic Indonesian buffet. Thanks to Jean-Marc for coming along with
his friend Yves to give me some support (and the girls enjoyed dancing
with you!).

Langkawi Honeymoon - Suzana & Andy Honeymoon Portrait Photographs

After their second wedding reception in Jakarta on April 12th. Suzana and Andy decides to have their honeymoon and beach portrait photos taken in Langkawi.The weather was great on the scheduled date that was April 27th. Both Ana and me choose Pantai Tengah as the best location for the day due to the combination factors of the tide and location of the sunset.
We pick a spot just next to the Franjipani Langkawi Resort. We though the rocks would be nice as an added prop.
The four of us had some drinks at the Lighthouse Restaurant to cool off. At around 6.30 we started the photo session. Both Suzana and Andy was just great and we though they were just natural to pose.
The weather was great and we were all bless with a stunning sunset to finish the day.

Malaysia Water Festival Langkawi Day 3

Pantai Cenang, Langkawi, 5th. April 2008.
Day three of the Malaysia Water Festival 2008 at Pantai Cenang, Langkawi attracted larger crowd as early as 9am. All activities runs smoothly and finishes by 7pm. This was followed by performances and show by fire eaters, street drummers, roving clowns and the buskers’s show.
Simultaneously over at the main stage popular local artistes such as Ramli Sarip entertained the crowd despite a slide drizzle earlier and coming to a close with a spectacular display of fireworks.

Malaysia Water Festival 2008 - Day 2 & Opening Ceremony

The Malaysia Water Festival 2008 was officially open today by the Secretary General Ministry of Tourism Malaysia, Datuk Dr. Victor Wee here at Pantai Cenang, Langkawi beginning with a colourful parade from various ethnic in Malaysia.
This was followed by the launching of the Kayak Sprint Race by Datuk Dr. Victor Wee who later visit each and every venue together with other VIPs. A Press Conference were later given after lunch at the Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort.

Malaysia Water Festival 2008

The 9th. edition of Malaysia Water Festival 2008 kicks off today at Pantai Cenang, Langkawi. The three days water festival will be officially open tomorrow morning here in Pantai Cenang, Langkawi.
Both local and tourist jammed this pristine beach to either participate or withess more then 100 sea and beach activities lined up such as island to island kayak, jet ski, creative family picnic, beach sumo, holiday on ice, beach aerobic,sand castle competition,knee boarding, water ski, beach cycling and many more.

Suzana & Andy’s Wedding in Kuala Lumpur

- The “Akad Nikah” ceremony in the wedding room of “Masjid Wilayah”, Jalan Duta Kuala Lumpur 22nd March 2008 -
We had a fabulous day, apart from the weather as we had a heavy tropical storm for the whole afternoon, but it did not affect the proceedings or dampen the spirits, and made it a little more cooler from the usual humid heat. Suzana looked absolutely stunning in her dress created by her popular designer nephew Jovian. Hanisa and Aisha were dressed in purple Malay kebaya’s and I wore a traditional Malaysian wedding outfit in white. Guests included Suzana’s mum and three of her sisters (Silvana, Fairuz and Lova), some of her other family members and friends, several of my old friends (great to see Azhar, Zul and Lee, Krishna and Wolf) and some wonderful new friends. The service was conducted in English in the wedding room of the State Mosque (Masjid Wilayah). Thanks to Azhar and Jovian for being my witnesses.

Zara & Ruairidh’s Wedding in Langkawi

Background
Ruairidh and I have been together for ten years. We are both from the Isle of
Skye on the west coast of Scotland, it is a small island where everyone knows
one another. Although having said that, we did not meet until we both got
part-time jobs in the local supermarket. I was in college and had come back to
the island for the summer, and Ruairidh was doing his final exams in shcool.
We both very quickly became good friends, as we both had the same sense of
humour and had the same interests. After spending a year getting to know each
other, Ruairidh had decided what he wanted to do at university and opted to move
to Glasgow. I had already lived there for the last year and finished my course,
but decided that I would move down with him as I had already moved back to Skye.

Langkawi Usher New Year & Visit Kedah Year 2008

Langkawi folks and tourists ushered in the New Year and the Visit Kedah Year 2008 with cultural performances, stunning laser show and fireworks display.
Kedah Menteri Besar / Chief Minister Dato’ Seri Mahdzir Khalid who were joint by the State Tourism Development Committee Chairman Dato’ Othman Aziz let the New Year celebration and officiated the
Visit Kedah Year 2008 at Langkawi’s Dataran Lang or Eagle Square.
The celebration, themed Visit Kedah Year 2008 “The Royal Golden Jubilee” were organized by Tourism Langkawi.
Guests were entertained and thrilled by Malaysia multi-racial cultural performances, such as the Dikir Barat, Lion Dance, Indian Cultural Performance, Langkawi own young talents and the country popular entertainers.
After the short speech by Dato’ Othman and Dato’ Seri Mahdzir, a stunning laser display marked the beginning of the Visit Kedah Year 2008 “The Royal Golden Jubilee” Celebration followed by a colourful fireworks display just after midnight dazzled the crowd who had gathered here at the Dataran Lang as early as 7.30pm.

Langkawi Honeymoon - Olga & Roman

This young lovely honeymoon couple from Russia stayed at the Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa for a week. Their wedding reception were held in Moscow on the 7th. September.
Looking charming on their wedding costumes, we began this 2 hours photography session around the resort at about 5.30pm. Pelangi has alot of beautiful landscape that could be used to make really beautiful pictures. We started near the fountain lake and slowly move along the many palm and coconut trees.
As the weather were a little hezy we decided to have more of the photographs concentrating on the beautiful garden and landscape of Pelangi and devide two session on the beach just to be sure.

Beach Vacation Photo of Risa & Genta

Risa had always wanted to have photographs of Genta (her husband) and her on a beach. This married couple of two years from Fujisawa, Japan were in contact with me for the past 2 months.
They both arrived in Langkawi on 19th. evening and checked in at the Holiday Villa Langkawi in Pantai Tengah. Without wasting anytime, Genta contacted me and made an appointment to have their photo shoot the next day.
With their rental motobike they made their way to our studio in Kuah. I took them in my car to Darling Florist a well known local florist in Langkawi and help them choose some flowers for the photo shoot later in the evening. We later went to De Cut Sallon which is located just a few block away for Risa’s make-up and hair do.

Wedding of Rhonda and Glen - Update

We decided to have a separate beach portrait photo shoot for Rhonda and Glen on the 19th. God Blessed us all with excellent weather on the planned photo session with stunning sunset.
Rhonda had her hair done once again and had kept her wedding hand bouquet fresh in the resort’s refrigerator specially for this occasion. The photo session lasted for about one and a haft hours. They were later joined by their friends who were staying at the neighbouring resort, Pelangi Beach Resort and Spa.

Honeymoon in Langkawi - Lepeshkina & Myuzhanov

The traditional Malay “Kompang” procession
Lepeshkina and Myuzhanov decided to have their honeymoon photographs taken at Four Seasons Resort Langkawi on 18th September in local Malay traditional wedding costume and a “kompang” procession with the “bunga manggar” to complete the simple and exciting event.
Looking charming in their blue “songket” attire we started the photo session at about 6pm in their villa followed by a simple pre-arranged kompang procession to the white sandy beach of Four Seasons. Weather were just perfect with great sunset to finish the portrait photo session.
